2 apple cider powdered drink mix(21g per pouch; pouches (such as Alpine Spiced Apple Cider))
5 tbsp butter(divided)
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
Main
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Separate Hawaiian rolls and cut a 1/2-inch slit in the side of each; enlarge the opening with a finger or spoon to make room for about 1 tablespoon filling.
Roughly chop the apple pie filling and stir in one packet of the apple cider powdered drink mix; spoon about 1 tablespoon filling into each prepared roll.
Melt 4 tablespoons butter and brush each roll on all sides with the melted butter; place rolls on a lined baking sheet.
Bake rolls in the preheated oven until lightly toasted and golden brown, 12 to 14 minutes.
Meanwhile, stir together the remaining apple cider packet, sugar, and cinnamon in a shallow dish and melt the remaining tablespoon of butter.
Brush the tops of the baked rolls with melted butter and coat each roll evenly in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Tips
Cut a 1/2-inch slit and widen with a spoon or finger to fit about 1 tablespoon filling per roll.
Brush rolls with melted butter before and after baking to encourage even browning and crisper edges.
Coat the warm rolls in the cinnamon-sugar immediately so the sugar adheres evenly and stays glossy.
