- 5 pcs peppercorns
Garnish
- 2 tbsp chives(Freshly chopped)
Instructions
Prepare the Broth
- In a large pot, combine the beef broth (or vegetable broth), onion, carrots, celery, bay leaf, and peppercorns.
- Bring the broth to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let it gently simmer for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Strain the broth through a fine-mesh sieve into a clean pot, discarding the solids. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep the broth warm.
Cook the Maultaschen
- Bring the strained broth back to a gentle simmer.
- Carefully add the maultaschen to the simmering broth. Ensure they are fully submerged.
- Cook the maultaschen according to package directions, or until they float to the surface and are heated through, typically 5-10 minutes.
Serve
- Ladle the hot broth into individual serving bowls.
- Gently place 2-3 maultaschen into each bowl of broth.
- Garnish generously with freshly chopped chives before serving.
