Ingredients

  • 9oz graviera cheese(or other firm, salty frying cheese like halloumi)
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp red chili flakes(adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp olive oil(for frying)
  • pcs fresh lemon wedges(for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Cheese

  1. Slice the graviera cheese into 1 cm thick slabs.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the flour, red chili flakes, and dried oregano. Mix well.
  3. Dredge each cheese slab in the flour mixture, ensuring it's evenly coated on all sides. Shake off any excess.

Cook the Saganaki

  1. Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  2. Carefully place the coated cheese slabs into the hot skillet. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until deeply golden brown and crispy.
