- 9oz lasagne pasta(broken into bite-sized pieces)
- 16oz ground beef
- 1 pc onion(chopped)
- 2 tbsp garlic(minced)
- 28oz crushed tomatoes(canned)
- 6 3/4 fl oz water
- 7oz mozzarella cheese(shredded)
- 9oz ricotta cheese
- 2oz parmesan cheese(grated)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- salt(to taste)
- black pepper(to taste)
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
Instructions
Meat Sauce
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
- Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, water, dried basil, and dried oregano. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 10 minutes.
Lasagna Assembly
- Add the broken lasagne pasta pieces to the simmering sauce. Stir to combine.
- Increase heat to medium, bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until pasta is al dente, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Dollop spoonfuls of ricotta cheese over the pasta mixture.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese evenly over the top.
- Cover the skillet again and let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the cheese to melt.
