Ingredients
- 2lb potatoes(peeled and thinly sliced)
- 1oz anchovies(oil-packed, drained and chopped)
- 2 cup heavy cream
- 1 pc onion(thinly sliced)
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs(plain)
- 2 tbsp butter(melted, plus more for greasing)
- salt(to taste)
- black pepper(freshly ground, to taste)
Instructions
Bake Preparation
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- In a large bowl, combine the thinly sliced potatoes, chopped anchovies, and sliced onion.
- Pour the heavy cream over the potato mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Toss gently to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs with the melted butter. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the potatoes.
Baking
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for another 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
