  • 2 pcs ripe tomatoes(halved)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil(extra virgin)
  • 1 tbsp capers(rinsed and drained)
  • 4 pcs anchovies(fillets, optional)
  • tsp salt(to taste; null)
  • tsp black pepper(freshly ground, to taste; null)

  1. Take each slice of Maltese bread and firmly rub the cut side of a halved ripe tomato all over the surface, ensuring the bread soaks up the tomato juices and pulp.
  2. Generously drizzle each tomato-rubbed bread slice with extra virgin olive oil.
