Ingredients
- 4 pcs chicken thighs(boneless, skinless)
- 6 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp char siu sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp honey or brown sugar(for glaze)
- 2 tsp garlic(minced)
- 1 tsp ginger(grated)
- 1 tsp rice wine vinegar
Instructions
Marinate Chicken
- In a bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, char siu sauce, sesame oil, honey (or brown sugar), minced garlic, grated ginger, and rice wine vinegar to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor.
Cook Chicken
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare your grill for medium-high heat.
- Remove chicken from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.
- Place chicken thighs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or on the preheated grill. Cook for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and the glaze is caramelized and slightly charred.
- For an extra glossy glaze, you can brush the chicken with additional Char Siu sauce or honey during the last 5 minutes of cooking.

Tips
- Marinating longer will infuse more flavor into the chicken, but be mindful of the soy sauce affecting texture if left too long.
- Keep an eye on the chicken during the last few minutes of cooking to prevent the glaze from burning.
- Serve hot with steamed rice, stir-fried vegetables, or your favorite Chinese side dishes for a complete meal.
